If a renter returns your car with new damage, we ask that you first contact the renter directly to understand what happened.

In order to be eligible for insurance coverage, you must report the damage to us within 24 hours after the end of the rental. To be eligible for coverage, please send several photos of the damage and up to 3 quotes* from repair places to support@rentmyride.co.za. These quotes must be sent within 2 weeks after the end of the rental along with any other relevant details (including any available police report). If the renter is at fault and the damage exceeds the access amount of the insurance of R5000, we will file a claim with our insurance and a representative from our Claims Department will contact you to guide you through the claims process. Your vehicle is protected by our insurance against accidents, property damage up to the actual retail value of the vehicle (the nearest amount needed to replace your car with a similar vehicle), lawsuits for injuries and theft.

Please note: RentMyRide (Pty) Ltd provides the service of claiming fees from renters, though RentMyRide (Pty) Ltd is not liable for paying out any fees that are not paid for by the renter.

*The renter has the right to dispute a quote (within valid reason) and may request up to 2 additional quotes from the owner.
